Review: CLAP, CLAP!
I have been a bookworm all my life, always had my head in a book and now I have passed that trait to my own daughter. When I saw that Flying Eye Books needed some bloggers to review a new title I jumped at the chance as it looked like such a fun book! CLAP CLAP by Madalena Matoso is a bright colourful book that will captivate toddlers everywhere.
Described as the hot new interactive imagination un-locking book for young readers from Flying Eye Books.
About the Author: Madalena Matoso studied Communication Design at Lisbon College of Fine Arts and post-graduated in Graphic Editorial Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona, Spain. In 1999 she and three friends created Planeta Tangerina, dedicated to illustration and graphic design.
CLAP CLAP is a very engaging book of movement, sounds, counting and bold bright colours throughout. Each page comes together to make a different sound from kissing to a bird flapping its wings. Freya was hooked the minute she saw this book, she wanted me to read it to her over and over. We love the actions when the pages meet, from a butterfly flapping its wings or two pieces of bread joining to make a yummy sandwich. Freya loved repeating the actions and also listing all the colours she saw. I think this is perfect book for a toddler, as it is very eye-catching with beautiful illustrations. A book they would love to flip through over and over.
This book is not small, it is very sturdy with a hard cover, and seems very durable. I always worry about Freya with non board books, as she has ripped a few but these pages are nice and thick and easy to turn. I would defiantly recommend this book to anyone with a toddler, even I am attracted to all the lovely colours and prints.
This book retails for £9.99, which I think is a very good price for a quality book to add to your book collection.
