Viga Butterly Block Puzzle Review

I was recently contacted by the lovely Emma at Wood and Wonder to do a toy review. She sent over the Viga Butterfly Block Puzzle which we were really excited about as Freya loves puzzles. What you notice first about the puzzle is the amazingly vibrant colours which really draw children in. As soon as my daughter saw the puzzle she said ooooh pretty butterfly, my thoughts exactly! I love that this puzzle is made from a high grade wood, that is painted and printed by hand. Another great quality of this puzzle is that it is made with non-toxic paints so no worries if your little ones still places items in their mouth.

Puzzles are lots of fun for children but they also help to develop important skills in early childhood such as:

  • Cognitive Skills
  • Problem Solving
  • Fine Motor Development
  • Hand and Eye Coordination
  • Language Skills
  • Social Skills

We are big fans of wooden toys and always drawn to them over plastic given the choice. I am quite impressed with the quality of this puzzle, it seems really durable and I think it will really hold up over the years.

Freya loved working out that the like colours went together to form a circle and then different shapes went into the middle. She was very happy with herself each time she completed a circle, she would clap and say I did it! Also, you can do more with this puzzle then just complete it, you can stack the pieces on-top of each other or just carry around the little shapes like Freya has been doing for days now! Overall I would really recommend this if your little ones love puzzles like mine does and at £8.95, which I think is a great price. Please go check out Wood and Wonder which sells all types of funky wooden toys for babies to preschoolers. I know I have my eye on quite a few things and will be making some purchases in the near future.
